Rest in Peace: Anacleto G. Flores, Sr.

On Sunday, August 31, 2014, Anacleto Gania Flores, Sr. of Salapungan passed away at Dr. Amando L. Garcia Medical Center in Angeles City, Philippines. He was 88 years old.

He was born on March 13, 1926 in San Ildefonso, Magalang, Pampanga, the tenth of the eleven children of Severa Gania and Agaton Flores. Two of his siblings died in infancy; he also outlived the other eight: Gregorio, Agripina (Baquing), Felix, Crispulo, Priscila (Arceo), Filomena (Salunga), Aurea (Alfaro), and Serapio.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Dionisia Gonzales de Guzman, and their thirteen children: Arsenia (Francisco) Lim, Amelita (Manuel) Zamora, Anacleto (Cresencia) Flores, Jr., Anastacia (Michael) Lo Presti, Alicia (Billy) Jones, Adelina (Ronald) Bennett, Alexander (Luisa) Flores, Angelita (Alfonso) Natac, Alma (Noel) Cortez, Arnold Flores, Thelma (Michael) Castro, Marie Faith Flores, and Janice Flores.

He leaves behind 27 grandchildren: Fr. Emmanuel Zamora, Ivy (Yeo) Bascos, Kathreen Kay Zamora, and Ivan-Lee Zamora; Percival (Gigi) Flores, Rommel (Armina) Flores, and Stephanie Flores; Patricia (Matthew) Brown and Michael (Diane) Lo Presti; Daniel Bennett; Christian (Rowena) Flores, Cristina (Elmer) Tang, Crizel (Joji) Tiria, and Alexander Flores, Jr.; Angela (Brian) Staub, Jerome (Chelsea) Natac, and Lorenzo Natac; Jaleesa Flores and John Cody Cortez; Trisia (John Henry) Basilio, Zen Castrodes, Zane Flores, and Michael Castro, Jr.; Dennis Flores, Alexandra Cunan, and Linzi Cunan; and Joshua Unciano. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Emir Zamora and Nathan Jones.

He also leaves behind 28 great-grandchildren: Isabel Bascos, Ismael Bascos; Irish Joy Flores, Patrick Flores, Carl Flores; Timothy John Bognot, Angelika Flores, Vincent Lee Flores; Raymond Wilson, Ella Brown, Harlow Brown; Jessica Lo Presti, Owen Lo Presti, Drew Lo Presti; Tristan Flores, Chrishna Flores; Kevin Flores, Erika Flores, Kenneth Flores, Kyle Flores, Kent Flores, Kiara Flores, Kian Flores; Jan Cxander Tiria; Eli Staub, Caleb Staub; Dashelle Gachola, and Ethan Basilio.

His body will lie in state at Funeraria Luzon in Salapungan, Angeles City, prior to the 8:00 AM Funeral Mass to be celebrated by his priest-grandson, Fr. Emmanuel F. Zamora, on Saturday, September 6, and his burial in the family plot at Holy Mary Memorial Park in Cutcut, Angeles City.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
